Golnoosh Hamidi, 1991, Tehran, Iran.
She was born and grew up in an artist family. Since her childhood, she accustomed to art because of her father (Hossein Hamidi, musician) and mother (Parvaneh Habibi Kalahroudi, painter) and she made experiences in music, painting, diaphoretic art, cinema, photography, etc.). Since the age of five and under her father’s supervision, she familiarized herself with percussions and chose Dayereh as her main instrument.
For the first time, she participated in Kids of Iran 2, an album by Hossein Hamidi as a singer, while she was only eight. Her first stage presence was with the age of twelve, in a concert-project of percussions led by her father. Thus, she began experiencing in Iran traditional music, which took a few years.
Golnoosh familiarized herself with different instruments, while she was a teenager as well as took a course of “The Abdollah Davami Vocal Radif” with Master Mohsen Keramati.
With fourteen, she found interest in Jazz and alto saxophone, and began learning the instrument with Mas’oud Mottaghi. With seventeen, she continued her advanced level with Peter Soleimanipour.
Since 2010, she began a musical carrier in theater, including composing and editing. She has also participated in a few photography and painting exhibitions, both as the photographer/painter and guest musician, while she holds private saxophone lessons, as well.
Her other interests are cinema, literature, and philosophy, since she finished her high school in literature and humanities. She is also graduated in film making in Iranian Youth Cinema Society in 2008 and has directed a few short films.
